1337 to the uninformed, leet. This is a form of writing where letters are changed to numbers and symbols. This is often used by internet, computer, and math geeks, most often when speaking to each other. There are no official standards for each letter and several letters do not have a translation. Unless you know what to look for, it is often difficult to read 1337.
